JOHN JOSEPH BALINT, JR. Mr. John Joseph Balint, Jr., 83, died February 20, 2012 at his home in Vero Beach. He was born in Yonkers, NY and has been a winter resident of Vero Beach since 1972 and has resided in Vero Beach year round since 2001 coming from Chappaqua, NY. He earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Catholic University of America, Washington DC. Mr. Balint was a founding partner of the independent insurance firm, Balint, Lamb and O'Neill which later became, Knox, Lent and Tucker Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Harcourt, Brace and Jovanich Publishing of Orlando, FL, retiring as Sr. Vice President in 2002. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Mr. Balint was an avid golfer, traveler and opera buff. He was a long time member of the John's Island Club, Vero Beach and Whippoorwill Country Club, Armonk, NY. Survivors include his son, John Balint III of Plantation, FL, daughter, Claudia Balint of Vero Beach; brothers, Msgr. R. James Balint of Plano, TX, Andrew Balint of Yonkers, NY and Vincent Balint of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Mary Lou Blute of Plano, TX, Margaret Murray, Bernice Flynn and Judith Fasano all of Harwich, MA and his beloved Mimi. Mr. Balint was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, the former Dorothy Shutrump in 2001 and a sister Kathleen Kane. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Spiritual Care, 1550 24th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Mr. Balint. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday 28, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at St. Patrick Church, Youngstown. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown, OH.
