Boardman, John Joseph Christoff, 85 Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 A.M. at St. Dominic Catholic Church for John J. Christoff, 85 of Boardman who passed away Wednesday morning at Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. John was born December 27, 1930 in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Elizabeth Rako Christoff and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from South High School with the Class of 1949. John was a veteran who served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean war. He worked as a millwright for General Motors retiring in 1996 and also worked part time as a Realtor for D'amico Realty Company. He has been a lifelong parishioner of St. Dominic Parish, its Holy Name Society, Booster Club and Knights of Columbus. John loved to travel, especially with his wife Diana to Rome and his family to Hawaii. He enjoyed golf, fishing, sking, rafting and all things that included spending time with his family. His wife Diana R. Wilson whom he married January 13, 1956 died on October 31,2013 just short of celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary. He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters Mary Beth (Gary ) Komsa of Poland, Ann Marie Christoff of Canton; five sons, John L. Christoff of Melbourne, FL, Michael C. (Ginna) Christoff of Poland, Mark A. (Mary Beth) Christoff of Mineral Ridge, William F. (Karen) of Pittsburgh, Kenneth F. (Jennifer) Christoff of New Middletown; 15 grandchildren, Michael J. (Ashley) Christoff, Mollie (Joel) DeSocio , Mathew J. (Danielle) Christoff, Catherine Komsa, Sarah Komsa, Mark Christoff, John Paul Christoff, Eric Christoff, Nicholas Christoff, Bryce Christoff, Alexander Christoff, Christian Christoff, Samantha Gurd, Brendan Gurd and Maria Christoff; four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Sasha Christoff, Carmen and Luke DeSocio. Besides his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by a granddaughter Faith Rose Christoff; two brothers, Chris and George Christoff and a sister, Helen McDonald. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home.
