John "Jug" Ditullio, 87 GIRARD - Prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m., Thursday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Kevin Peters, at 10 a.m. at St. Angela Merici (Sacred Heart) Church in Campbell, for John "Jug" Ditullio, 87, who passed away suddenly, at his home, Friday morning. John was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of Giro and Lucrezia Anzivino Ditullio and was a lifelong area resident. John worked as a welder for many years, retiring from Faul and Sons in Warren. He was a former member of St. Rose parish in Girard and was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed camping, fishing, was a regular mall walker, loved to spend time with his family and friends and with his extended family at Kuzmans. His wife, the former Betty "Bee" Prater, whom he married on July 18, 1959, died in April of 2005. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Mary Ann Peters of Austintown; his son, John M. Ditullio of Green Acres, Fla.; his brother, Jerry Ditullio (Barb) of North Dakota; his two grandsons, Benjamin Peters (Cassie) and Dylan Ditullio; and his three great-grandchildren, Travis, Katherine and MacKenzie Peters. Besides his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, with whom he was very close, Danielle L. Peters; his brother, Donald Ditullio; and his three sisters, Eva Polon, Grace and Angie Ditullio. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
