JOHN R. " POJO " LESHINSKY, 70 BOARDMAN - Services will be 9:15 am. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home and 10 am. in Saint Columba Cathedral for John R. "Pojo" Leshinsky, who died Wednesday at his residence. John was born March 8, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of Stephen and Anna Walkosak Leshinsky. He was a 1954 graduate of Wilson High School. John worked at General Extrusions for 47 years, retiring in 2000. John was a member of Saint Columba Parish, a member and past president of The United Steelworkers of America Local # 5154, a Boy Scout Pack Chairman for Pack # 60, a YMCA Indian Guides Leader and a manager and coach for the Boardman Little League. John was the past president of the Boardman Band and Orchestra Parents, he founded the BBOP Bingo and was a member of The Friends of Boardman Band and a member of the Mahoning Valley Knife Association. Mr. Leshinsky was a Army veteran, stationed in Alaska. Besides his wife, the former Mary Ellen Carney, whom he married June 2, 1962, he leaves three daughters Laura (Tim) Elder of Austintown, Lynn (John) Orr of Jacksonville, FL, Lisa (Guy) Young of Boardman; two sons, John R. (Kelli) Leshinsky, Jr. of Boardman and Charles (Lisi) Leshinsky of Adams Township, OH; a brother, Steve (Dena) Leshinsky of New Castle, PA; two sisters, Dolly Leshinsky and Karen Salata, both of Austintown; ten grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Aidan, Max, Anna, Nathan, Elizabeth, Guy, Lauren and Andrew; a dear friend, Tony (June Marie) Navy of Ft. Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Leshinsky. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
