John P. "Jack" Saunders , 87 There will be prayers at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Christopher Cicero at 1:00 p.m. at St. Christine Church for John P. "Jack" Saunders, 87, who passed away Sunday evening at Camelot Arms Care Center. Jack was born September 18, 1925 in Youngstown a son of John Edward and Catherine Barry Saunders and has been a lifetime area resident. He graduated from Rayen High School with the Class of 1944. Jack retired in 1985 from Conrail after working for the railroad for 40 years. He was a long time member of St. Christine Parish and was involved in there golf and bowling leagues and was a member of the Eagles Club. He will be missed by his wife Margaret J. "Peg" Thompson whom he married June 7, 1947. He also leaves to treasure his memory two daughters Mary Beth Brooks of Austintown, Margene Foster of Reno, NV; two sons John E. "Jack" Saunders of Columbus, Michael J. Saunders of Youngstown; a brother Richard Saunders of Austintown; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a grandson Barry E. Brooks Jr., a Daughter-in-Law Kathleen Saunders; a brother William Saunders and a sister Rosemary Russo. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
