Obituary

John F. Reese, 86, passed away peacefully Sunday evening June 28, 2026. John was born June 21, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of Regis John and Helen Gertrude Holden Reese.

He was a proud 1958 graduate of Ursuline High School and spent his working career as an insurance adjustor for several area companies. In 1968, john enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Fort Dox, New Jersey, before being honorably discharged in 1969. He was a member and eucharistic minister at Holy Family Church and was a scratch golfer and was the past president of the Y League. His wife the former Barbara Guidos, whom he married in 1967, passed away in 2007.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers James and William Reese, sister Maureen Krull and nephews William Krull, Jason (Heidi) Krull, Michael (Beth) Reese and Matthew (Tomoko) Reese. He is preceded in death by brothers Dennis and Donald Reese.

Family and friends can call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday July 6, 2026, at the Fox Funeral Home.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. Martin Celuch at 10: 00 a.m. Tuesday July 7, 2026, at Holy Family Church 2729 Center Rd. Poland Ohio 44514.

He will be laid to rest next to his wife Barbara at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Lowellville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
