Obituary

John Opincarne Sr. 96 LIBERTY - There will be a funeral service at 10:30 am Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home celebrated by Deacon Michael Kocjancic for John Opincarne Sr., 96, who passed away Wednesday evening at Liberty Health Care. John was born May 2, 1918 in Youngstown, a son of the late Ioan & Maria Dumitrersa Opincariu and has been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Scienceville High School with the Class of 1937. John was a veteran of the United States Air force serving in North Africa during WWII. John worked as a barber for over 40 years and was a member of the VFW. His wife Mae A. Kotz preceded him in death on January 1, 1984. He will be greatly missed by his son, John (Mary Ann) Opincarne Jr. of Lowellville; his daughter Lynda Perry of Youngstown; his brother Ray Opincarne of Colorado Springs, CO; his seven grandchildren, Patrick (Tina) Lehman, Chrissy (Mark) Hassey, Denise (Brian) Perry, Michael Lehman, Faith Perry, John Opincarne III, Elizabeth Opincarne; ten great grandchildren; and his loving companion Virginia Powroznyk of Masury. Besides his wife, John is preceded in death by his two brothers, Daniel and Robert Opincarne; four sisters, Betty Clotian, Flora Opincarne, Mary "Boots" Groh and Virginia Christoff. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home prior to his service.
