Joseph "Pop" Abraham Salman,68 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Mark Cuprik for Joseph "Pop" A. Salman, 68, who passed away Sunday afternoon at his residence with his family by his side. Joseph was born May 24, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Abraham & Jamila Saileem Salman and moved to the Youngstown area around 1965. He worked at National Strapping Steel Company, Rescue Mission and Comprehensive Logistics. Joe belonged to Victory Christian Center and loved people. Pop enjoyed camping, enjoyed the beach and the sun, loved watching movies but most of all loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by two sons, Joseph A. (Marci McBride) Salman Jr. of Canfield, Jason (Jessica) Salman of Pittsburgh; a daughter Laylah (Thomas) Loiczly of Cleveland; his brother Mohamed Salman of West Palm Beach, FL; his sister Lalah Cain of Poland; the mother of his children, Dianna Cecchini of Canfield; his ten grandchildren, Faye Salman, Krista, Kerington, Maliyah, Charles, Dominic, Viola and Julian Loiczly, Jason Salman Jr. , Isabella Salman; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his four brothers, Toufic, Fehmy, Hassan and Jimmy Salman and a sister Badria Abbas. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and the entire staff of Grace Hospice for the loving care they extended to Joseph.
