Obituary

Josephine Louise Gambrel, 89 BOARDMAN - A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Church in Poland for Josephine Louise Gambrel who passed away Monday morning at The Greenbriar Healthcare Center. Mrs. Gambrel was born April 1, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of Phillip and Laura Gialdini Fusco and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of The Rayen School, attended Youngstown College, and was employed as a medical technologist at North Side Hospital. She was a member of the Mahoning County Medical Society Women's Auxiliary, the Youngstown Garden Forum, and the Tippecanoe Country Club. She was a Cub Scout den mother and a Blue Bird leader. Mrs. Gambrel's beloved husband. Dr. Francis J. Gambrel, passed away December 23, 1978. Mrs. Gambrel is survived by her children, Paul F. Gambrel of Poland, William J. Gambrel and his wife Amy of Boardman, Mary Ann Simone and her husband James of Poland; her grandchildren, Diana E. Gambrel of Arlington, VA, John F. Gambrel of Myrtle Beach, SC, Daniel J. Simone, and Matthew H. Gambrel both of Boardman, and her sister, Geraldine L. Kundracik of Youngstown. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary, Frances, Florence, and Carmel, and her brother, John. The family asks that material contributions be made to Catholic Charities Regional Agency, 2401 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44505. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fox Funeral home in Boardman and there will be a 4:30 p.m. prayer service prior to calling hours.
