Julian Dennick Wick of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Clinton. Julian was born on September 24, 1929, to the late George and Margaret Clingan Wick in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from The Rayen School, Oberlin College, and earned his doctoral degree from the Princeton Theological Seminary. Julian was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was involved in a variety of careers during his life, among them some time spent with the New York Metropolitan Opera; Dean at Knoxville College; Minister at the Bellflower Presbyterian Church of Downey, California; a certified hypnotherapist; and a mediator with Knoxville Courts of General Sessions, Civil Mediations. Dr. Wick was ordained at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, Ohio. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his life partner, Trent Davis; sisters Adeline James (Gilbert) and Mary Anne Wick; and brothers James (Carol) and Thomas (Anne). He is survived by his brother John (Rose) of Atlanta, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and colleagues
Friends, family, and co-workers all remember Julian to have been a happy and joyful man who was at ease with everyone in any situation. Julian made everyone around him comfortable and welcome. He was always curious and a lifelong learner, with a deep love of art and music.
Family and friends will gather at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 10, 2018, from 2 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Belmont Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
