Katherine "Kitty" McGarry, 87 POLAND - Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Robert Edwards, at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church Youngstown, for Katherine "Kitty" McGarry, 87, who passed away peacefully Thursday, with her family by her side. Katherine was born May 14, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Gray and Anna Garrett Drennen. She worked in the maintenance department of West Blvd. Elementary School in Boardman. Kitty was a life long member of St. Dominic Church. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed decorating her house, crocheting and going out to eat. Her husband, John E. "Red" McGarry, whom she married July 13, 1946, passed away Aug. 21, 1968. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, William Prest of Youngstown, Sean (Sandy) McGarry of Youngstown, Mary Kay (Jerry) Wymer of Lisbon, Edward (Nonnie) McGarry of New Middletown, Ruth Ann "Liz" Libert of Lisbon, Kenneth (Terry) McGarry of Poland, Brigid McGarry of Pulaski, Penna, Kevin (Kathy) McGarry of Cleveland, Maureen (Marty) Capito of Akron, Erin (Ricky) Blume of Poland and Johnathan (Dana) McGarry of Pittsburgh; a brother, J. Gray Drennen of Austintown; 36 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Kitty was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Patrick McGarry; a brother, William Drennen; sisters Dorothy Crane and Ruth Smith; a daughter-in-law Kathy, Prest; a son-in-law, Harry Libert; grandchildren John Wymer, Chuckie Wymer and Danny McGarry; and a great-grandson, Julian Prest. Calling hours are from 3 to 6 Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman. Katherine's family wishes to thank the staffs of the Hospice House and the 5th Floor of St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus for their loving care and compassion.
