"Kay" Kelly
Nov 6, 1932 — Aug 2, 2012
Kathleen B. "Kay" Kelly CANFIELD - There will be prayers at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church in Boardman for Kathleen "Kay" Kelly, 79, who passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2012 at Hospice House surrounded by her family and friends. She was born November 6, 1932, in Youngstown, daughter of George and Katherine (Barrett) Reedy and was a life-long area resident. Kay graduated with the Class of 1951 from Ursuline High School. She was an active member of the drama club with several starring roles including the lead in Cheaper by the Dozen, her senior play. Kay was proud to be part of a special group of high school friends called the Sharpiettes and a member of the reunion committee even through their 60th reunion last year. A member of Camp Fire Girls from 5th grade through high school, Kay won the Torch Bearer Award and was a troop leader for both of her daughters. She worked at Stackhouse Oldsmobile prior to beginning her family. In 1981, Kay became a Home Interiors (Celebrate Home) displayer winning Top Sales several times over the years even as recently as Sept. 2011 and loved the friends she made. She enjoyed dining with friends, spending time with her dogs and loved each second she spent with her children and grandchildren. This past November, Kay lost the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jim, whom she married on Feb. 12, 1955. They spent most of their 56 years of marriage raising their family in Boardman. Kay cherished her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by each of them, Kathleen (Larry) Moliterno of Boardman, James W. (Vera) Kelly of Warren, Michael (Chris) Kelly of Canfield and Aileen (Eric) Rebic of Struthers; and eight grandchildren, Tyler Moliterno, Lauren Moliterno, Aminah Wesley, Madilyn Kelly, Bridgett Kelly, Michael Kelly, Taylor Hull-Rebic and Eric Rebic. She also leaves behind her sister Anne (Reedy) Schuler, her life-long friend Helen (Barton) Knuff and an abundance of friends and family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Margie Hammar. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
