Obituary

Lawrence (Larry) L. Burtner, 70, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon April 8, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born November 15, 1954, in Silver Spring, Maryland, a son of the late Richard and Joanne Fennell Burtner. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High school in 1973, he enlisted in the Air Force serving as an Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist. Upon his honorable discharge in 1980, Lawrence went to work for various sheet metal contractors and retired from the Quality Control Dept at Trumpf, Inc. His love of music led him to play guitar and the drums for several bands.  He was a kind and gentle person who enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. Lawrence (Larry) leaves to cherish his memory, his wife the former Cheryl L. Camp, whom he married June 3, 2005, son Jesse Burtner, stepdaughters, Kelly (Nathan) Olsson and Kathryn (Thomas) Eby, brothers Timothy Burtner, Todd (Sandy) Burtner and Christopher Burtner, grandchildren Silas Burtner, Ella, Clark and Louis Eby, and brother-in-law Gary Camp.

Larry is preceded in death by a brother Daniel Burtner and his dog Lucy. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11:50amSaturday April 12, 2025, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon, officiated by Rev Russell Adams. Material tributes can be made in his memory, to Hospice of The Valley, 979 Tibbetts Wick Rd, Suite A, Girard, Ohio 44420. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
