Lawrence A. Scarazzo A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Russ Adams at 7:30pm Thursday June 21st at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman for Larry A. Scarazzo 87, who passed away peacefully Tuesday June 12th at his home with his son Larry by his side. Larry was born January 12th, 1925 in Painesville, Ohio, son of Nicola and Sarah Bordonaro Scarazzo. Upon graduation from East High in Youngstown in 1943. Larry joined the Army and went to California for training. He then served in the European Theatre, where he was attached to George Patton's Third Army during the Battle of the Bulge. Larry was an electrician for the Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Republic Steel. He also worked for Campbell Electric and wired many houses in the Mahoning Valley. Larry enjoyed singing, dancing, rollerskating, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, April (Bill) Dornan of Poland, Darlene (Jim) Donatelli of Kent and Marlene (Terry) Popovich of Pensacola, Florida, and a son, Larry (Terry) Scarazzo of Canfield. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, Shannon (Lonnie) Byers of Boardman, Bill (Elle) Dornan of Denver, Amber Cochran of Canfield, Hannah Scarazzo of Canfield, Lindsey Scarazzo of Jacksonville, Jim (Maggie) Donatelli of Canfield, Gina Johngrass of Panesville, Dawn (Joe) Williams of Virginia Beach, Anthony Conti of New Jersey, and Joe (Missy) Popovich of Mercer, Pa. Nine great grandchildren, Lea and Lauren Byers, Kendall and Vaughn Dornan, Anthony and Maddyson Cochran, Mason Donatelli, Jonah Williams, and Emily Popovich. Larry also leaves three sisters, Virginia Paloci, Dorothy Baltes, and Shirley (Bill) Schaffer and many nieces and nephews. Larry's beloved wife of over 63 years, Beverly Baillie Scarazzo, whom he married on July 16, 1948 passed away November 30th 2011. Besides his wife, Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Viola D'avanzo and Marie Ponzani. Larry was very generous with his time, talent, and heart. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Larry's family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful care he received from Hospice, especially Emma, Jim, Kim and Shelby and also David from Valley Home Health Care. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Larry's name to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Boardman, Ohio 44512. Friends may call from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the funeral home.
