Obituary

Louise Shutrump Nuth, 96 POLAND - Louise Shutrump Nuth went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday morning December 30th when she died peacefully in her home. Louise was born February 25, 1918, in Youngstown, a daughter of Fred and Helen Buchman Shutrump. She was the oldest of 10 children. Louise affectionately known as "Mom" led a selfless life. She will be remembered for her remarkable beauty, style and grace. The essence of her beauty emanated from within through her kind gentle spirit. Her love was unconditional. If you were friend or family you were made to feel as though you were the "only one"- her "favorite". Her love knew no bounds. Louise was a Devout Catholic who believed in the Power of Prayer. Her strong faith was a beacon of light for her family to follow. She taught everyone she met the importance of humility and faith. Louise attended St. Patrick's elementary school where one of her favorite memories was going home (across the street) to her Grandma's to share jelly bread. Louise attended Villa Marie and Ursuline High School. December 1935, Louise married her sweetheart James G. Nuth whom she met at Idora Park Ballroom. Their meeting & courting became part of a play at the Youngstown Playhouse, where Jim and Louise were special guests who played themselves on stage. Their marriage lasted over 70 years. And for several years they were honored as the longest married couple in the Youngstown Diocese. Louise enjoyed traveling, shopping in New York, the finer things in life and all things sweet and chocolate. She may have been known to "hide" the "good" candy. Mom lived by a simple motto "Love God and Love Family". She played a vital role in the lives of her children and grandchildren, splitting her time between Ohio, Arizona and South Carolina. Mom loved Christmas! So much so as a child that she passed those traditions on to her family. Christmas was a huge deal. A great blessing. a miracle, a mystery. Mom always created the "Awe". Her love made the memory. The Family was thankful to have been able to share one last Christmas with our Loving Mother. Louise was a long time parishioner of St. Christine's parish, a member of Our Lady of Charity, Society of the Rosary and a continual member of St. Jude's Research Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, James G. (Jaci) Nuth, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Robert F. (Victoria) Nuth of Wickenburgh, AZ and David J. (Patty) Nuth of Myrtle Beach, SC; four daughters, Christine L. Nuth of Phoenix, AZ, Helen L. (Dom) Italiano of Poland, Carole L. (Mike) Petrello of Austintown and Marlene D. (Ralph) McMahan of Boardman; a brother Thomas (Jayne) Shutrump of Boardman ; a sister Carole (Jack) Reardon of Boardman ; thirty-two grandchildren; sixty-two great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and a dear friend Edith Butler. Besides her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas E. Nuth and Charles Nuth ; 4 brothers, Charles, Fred, John Paul and George Shutrump; three sisters, Dorothy Baliant, Marian Humphrey and Betty Hoyt. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at Fox Funeral Home. There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home and a resurrection mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, celebrated by Rev. Edward Noga.
