Obituary

Prayers  will be 9:15 A.M. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Martin Celuch at 10 A.M.at Christ Our Savior Parish , St. Nicholas Church,  Struthers for Margaret A. Mullen, 86 of Youngstown, who passed  away peacefully March 25.  Margaret was born July 11, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Penna., a daughter of Joseph E. and Josephine  M . Bolcek Pertl.  She was a Canton Central Catholic High School graduate and moved to Youngstown in 1948.  After moving to the area, Margaret graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1951, and went to worked as a registered nurse for the Western Reserve Care System. She became an active member in the St. Elizabeth Alumni Association,  Ohio Nurses Association District #3, the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association and the Catholic Nurses Association.   Margaret belonged to Christ Our Savior Parish, its Altar & Rosary Society and Seton Chapter #3.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and reading.   Margaret's husband John M. Mullen whom she married on July 5, 1952,  passed away June  9, 1996.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Barbara (Mike) Zuckla of Boardman, Margaret Cahill of Costa Mesa, Ca., Mary Anne Ruddis of Spokane, WA, and Janet Beniston of Youngstown,  sons Michael Mullen of Spokane, WA, Joseph (Christy) Mullen of Spokane, WA, John (Lois) Mullen of Youngstown, James (Jan) Mullen of Struthers and Stephen (Monika) Mullen of Crystal Lake, Ill., fifteen grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren..  Besides her parents and husband, Margaret is preceded in death by a brother Joseph Pertl, a sister Joan Ickes, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren..  Friends may call from 5 to 8 Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.  Material tributes can be made to Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers, Ohio  44471.
