MASSILON-Marie T. Diorio, 99 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church, for Marie T. Diorio, formerly of Boardman, who passed away on Sunday June 16th, 2013. Marie was born on August 26, 1913 in Niles, a daughter of George and Mary Peruzzi Scott. Before graduating from South High School she attended St. Patrick's Elementary where she was a member of the Patrician Girl's Basketball team. She was a receptionist and copy girl for the Youngstown Vindicator prior to marrying her beloved husband, Henry J. Diorio on May 8, 1948. Marie was a lifelong area resident until moving to Massillon in 2006 to be closer to her children. Marie's most treasured times were spent with her family and friends. As an avid sport's fan she loved attending and watching sporting events especially baseball and tennis. She will be fondly remembered for her love, generosity, and always preparing those special Italian meals for her loved ones. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Hank (Flo) Diorio of Green; daughter, Mary (Garry) Conrad of Canal Fulton; granddaughter Tara (Paul) Welsted and grandson Jonathan Diorio, great grandchildren Logan, Gianna and Jonathan Jr.; brother, John Scott and her special friends, nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry in 2006; her sister, Francis D"Amico and her brother Patrick Scott. The family would like to express their sincere thanks & appreciation to all Marie's doctors, nurses, aides and volunteers for their special support and dedication that they extended to Marie and her family. In Lieu of flowers any memorial tributes may be given to the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center (designated to the Patient Care Fund for individual staffing) at Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service C/O Akron General Foundation, 400 Wabash Avenue, Akron, OH 44307-2463. Mom, you fought a hard fight with such dignity and grace. We know that you will be celebrating your 100th Birthday in Heaven dancing with Dad and your loved ones. Friends may call at St. Charles Church, Boardman from 9 a.m to 9:50 a.m Thursday.
