Marie
Marinelli
Jan 31, 1924 — Jun 3, 2008
Marie Marinelli, 84 BOARDMAN--Marie Marinelli, age 84, passed away the morning of June 3rd, 2008 at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. She recently had been hospitalized with a liver ailment and had been undergoing treatment when she suffered an unexpected setback. Marie was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Felix A. and Elisa (Leonelli) Antonelli and made the valley her home her entire life. Marie was the loving wife and lifetime partner for 61 years of Anthony Marinelli. She was the devoted mother of Dr. Anthony (Ellen) Marinelli of Glenview, Illinois and Andrew (Debbie) Marinelli of Boardman, Ohio. She had 6 grandchildren: Matthew, Melissa and Mark Marinelli, Jessica (Brody) Quick, Tiffany and Rachel Hefferon. Marie also had 3 nephews: Dr. Anthony (Martha) Greco, Nick (Cindy) and John (Mary) Cerimele, and 1 niece, Joanne Diana. She also left behind, to cherish her memory, many cousins and a multitude of friends. Marie was a 1942 graduate of Boardman High School and a 1943 graduate of the Youngstown Business College. She was initially employed at the Youngstown unemployment office before purchasing Cycle Sales Company with her husband Anthony in 1954. Together they would grow the bicycle business, originally started by her father in 1919, into a thriving enterprise patronized by generations of area residents. Far more than a successful business woman however, her claim to fame would be her heartfelt devotion to anyone in need. She eagerly sacrificed her time and talents on a regular basis so that others might benefit. Marie will be dearly missed by all those who had the good fortune of knowing her wonderful smile and loving nature. Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Fox Funeral Home. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am in Saint Dominic Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Interment is to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
