Marilyn J. Ress, 83 BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church, celebrated by the Rev. Kevin Peters, for Marilyn J. Ress, 83, formerly of Oran Drive, who passed away Friday evening. Marilyn was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of Dr. Joseph and Dorothea Miller Lyden. She was a 1943 graduate of Ursuline High School and had attended Youngstown College, and worked for Heller-Murray before she got married. Marilyn was a charter member of the church and was a member of Seton Circle, and enjoyed playing bridge. Her husband Robert Ress Sr., whom she married Oct. 15, 1949, passed away Jan 24, 2007. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Robert (Judith) Ress of Carmel, Ind., and James (Kelley) Ress of Boardman; two daughters, Marilyn (Joseph) Pollifrone of Stuart, Fla., and Laura Ress of Chicago; one sister, Dorothy Hargate of Canfield; one brother, Joseph Lyden of Boardman; and 12 grandchildren, Jennifer (Evan) Thomas, Robert and Diana Ress, Christine, Matthew, Mark and Caroline Pollifrone, David, Michael, Nicholas, Katie and Maggie Ress. Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ress; and a brother, Edward Lyden Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
