Obituary

Marilyn L. Stanton, 81 POLAND---Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home for Marilyn Stanton, 81, who died Thursday evening at Hospice House. Marilyn was born August 23, 1933 in East Palestine, OH, a daughter of William and Mildred Pugh and has been an area resident since 1939. She graduated from Boardman High School and worked at Ohio Bell for 33 years until retiring in 1986. Later she worked as a receptionist at Manchester Bennett Powers and Ullman until retiring in 2008. Marilyn was an avid Cleveland Indians fan , she enjoyed reading, working Sudoku puzzles, going to Mountaineer but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandson Jacob who she loved dearly. Her husband Leo Stanton whom she married May 18th 1957 died on July 12, 2007 after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. She will be greatly missed by her two sons; Michael Stanton of Poland and Daniel (Jenine) Stanton of New Middletown; her brother Butch Pugh of Boardman and her grandson Jacob Daniel Stanton of New Middletown. Besides her husband and her parents Marilyn was predeceased in death by her brother Dale Nordquist. Marilyn's family requests that any memorial tributes be made in her name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd. Poland, OH 44514. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, prior to her service.
