One of God's earthly angels was called to heaven on Sunday, August 20, 2006. Marjorie M. Duffy passed away quietly at Austinwoods Nursing Facility, surrounded by her loving family, after a four-month illness. Margie was born on May 26, 1925 in Youngstown. a daughter of Harry and Margaret McGuire Kidd, and was a lifelong area resident. A devout catholic, she attended St. Patrick's school in Youngstown and was a long-time member of St. Stanislaus Church. She was particularly proud of her Irish and Scottish heritage and looked forward to celebrating St. Patrick's Day each year. She loved playing bingo and cards, but her true joy in life was her children and grandchildren, to whom she was passionately devoted. She was the finest example of a loving mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, her tiny kitchen was packed full of relatives and friends who were drawn to her sweet and gentle nature in times of joy and sorrow. She was a wonderful cook, and her delicious homemade pies, beef stew, potato salad, and pizza will be fondly remembered by all. She is survived by two daughters. Marjorie (Gene) Walega of New Middletown, and Nancy (Dale) Schneider of Austintown; two sons, Gary of Campbell and James of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Kimberly Walega. Jamie (Jeremy) Fishel, Jenna, Samantha, and Matthew Schneider; three great-grandchildren, Coy, Caitlyn and Carleigh Fishel, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. Her husband, James F. Duffy, whom she married November 4, 1944, died April 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald, six brothers, Eugene, William, John. Harry, Raymond, and James Kidd, and a sister Dorothy Zimmerman. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home in Boardman. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church on Oak Hill Avenue in Youngstown.
