Marjorie L. Newman, 99 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be a Resurrection Mass at 1p.m. at St. Christine Church celebrated by Fr. John Ettinger for Marjorie L. Newman, 99 who passed away peacefully at Assumption Nursing Home Saturday morning. Marjorie was born August 22, 1916 in Youngstown a daughter of William "Buck" and Helen Sullivan Lally and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from South High School and worked at the General Electric Lighting plant for 41 years and never missed a day of work. She was a long time parishioner of St. Dominic's parish and later joined St. Christine's parish. Marjorie's husband, Sydney G. Newman Jr. whom she married in 1949 died on April 9, 1972. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister Patsy Gettman of California and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her four brothers, William, Raymond, John and Richard Lally; five sisters, Helen Abel, Geraldine Porter, Virginia Prior, Mary Jane Forebush and Marilyn Cerimele. In lieu of flowers the family wishes any monetary donations be made in Marjorie's memory to St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave, Youngstown, OH 44511. Arrangements are taken care of by the Staff at Fox Funeral Home.
