Obituary

Marjorie M. Walega, 60 Another of God's earthly angels was called to heaven on Saturday, November 11, 2006. Marjorie M. Walega, 60, of New Middletown was surrounded by her family and friends as she passed away peacefully at University Hospital in Cleveland, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Margie was born on October 10, 1946 in Youngstown, the eldest child of James and Marjorie Kidd Duffy, and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1964 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and had worked as an auditor at McKelvey's in downtown Youngstown and most recently as a crew trainer at McDonalds in New Springfield. She was an avid reader and loved art, music and gardening. To her family she was their most tireless caretaker, enthusiastic cheerleader, and thoughtful peacemaker. She will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Gene, whom she married October 17, 1970, her daughter, Attorney Kimberly Walega and future son-in-law Attorney Wade Doerr, her sister Nancy (Dale) Schneider of Austintown, two brothers, Gary of Campbell and James of Youngstown, several nieces and nephews, countless friends, and the family dogs, Pip and Bernie, all of whom loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald. Friends may call from 5- 8 pm Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home in Youngstown. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. Patrick's church on Oakhill Avenue in Youngstown. She will be laid to rest at Calvary cemetery.
