Mark Eugene Novosel, 87 Prayers will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. William Rock at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Church for Mark E. Novosel, 87, who passed away Friday morning at Vista Center at the Ridge. Mark was born on January 9, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of Marco and Anna Millage Novosel and has been a life-long area resident. Mark graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and then served his country in the United States Navy. After returning home from the service he worked for B&O Railroad as a Terminal Train Master, where he worked until retirement after 44 years of employment. Mark was a long time parishioner of St. Dominic parish and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and canning his produce. He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary Margaret Laffey whom he married on June 3, 1950. Mark also leaves two sons, Matthew (Annette) Novosel of Austintown, Mark (Pam) Novosel of Pompano Beach, FL; a son-in-law Thomas Minto of Mesa, AZ; a sister Marilyn Vukovich of Boardman; four grandchildren, Kalynn Novosel of Youngstown, Matthew Novosel of Austintown, Jodi Novosel of Key west, FL, Robin (Rich) Graham of Austintown; and a great grandchild Sydney Heinbaugh. Besides his parents Mark was preceded in death by two daughters, Maryellen Novosel and Mariellen Minto; two brothers Peter and John Novosel; three sisters Margaret Cardinale, Alice Novosel and Anna Mae Walkosak. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.
