Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, celebrated by Rev. Edward P. Noga for Mary Jo Blanchard, 58, who peacefully passed away Monday evening, December 12, 2016 at Hospice House following a courageous battle with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease. Mary Jo was born on July 9, 1958 in Wellsville, Ohio, the daughter of Richard Robinson and Dorothy Roberts. She received her Bachelor's of Engineering degree in 1980 from Youngstown State University and received her Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Kent State University in 2000. She continued her education further by attending Villanova University and obtained a certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt, an accomplishment that is significant in the business world. Mary Jo was a leader in the industrial engineering field, beginning in the 1980's being a female engineer on the production floor in a workforce compromised mainly of men. Mary Jo began her career at the Syro Steel Company in Girard, Ohio as an Industrial Engineer and also held similar positions at the Shenango China Company of New Castle, Penn.,; the Eljer Manufacturing Company of Salem, Ohio. She worked at Indalex Aluminum Solutions in Girard, Ohio as a Regional Planning and Production Control Manager over Three of the companies production facilities. Mary Jo ended her working career at the ArcelorMittal Steel Company in Cleveland, Ohio just prior to her diagnosis and retirement. Mary Jo is survived by her daughter Jennifer of Boardman, Ohio as well as her former spouse William Blanchard, also of Boardman, who was instrumental in her care during her illness. She also leaves behind her mother, Dorothy Roberts of East Liverpool, Ohio, her step-mother, Mary Robinson of West Virginia, brothers, Glenn (Julie) Robinson, William (Cathy) Whorton, Daniel (Pam) Whorton, all of West Virginia, her sisters, Fredda Roberts of Ironton, Ohio, Martha (Alan) of Heath, Australia, and Rickilynn (Harry) Aston of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Robinson. Family may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman and again at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
