Obituary

NORTH LIMA-Mary T. Dixon, 97 Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated by Rev. William Rock at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church for Mary T. Dixon, 97, who passed away peacefully at Assumption Village Friday morning surrounded by her family. Mary was born February 7, 1915 in Youngstown, a daughter of Constantine and Agnes Sarzyniak Christides and was a life-long area resident. She graduated from South High School with the Class of 1933. Mary was a homemaker who belonged to St. Dominic parish, it's Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic War Vets Post #1222 Women's Auxilary.. Her husband of over fifty six years Frank J. Dixon Sr. whom she married November 29,1941 passed away on December 24, 1997. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children; Kathleen (Chuck) Folkwein of Poland, Frank J. Dixon Jr. of New Springfield; son-in-law Joseph Italiano of Boardman; a daughter-in-law Mary Beth Dixon of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Luke (Michelle) Dixon, Julie Italiano, Dr. Meredith Dixon, Daniel Folkwein, Maria Dixon, Keith Swartz, Brenda Gentile, Eric Swartz; three great-grandchildren, John Dixon, Henry Mumaw and Lily Gentile. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Elaine Italiano, son Dr. Gerald Dixon; daughter-in-law Kim Dixon; sisters, Helen Nolan and Betty Kobus, brothers Al and Walter Christides. In lieu of flowers the family wishes any monetary donations to be made in Mary's Memory to St. Dominic Church , 77 East Lucius Ave, YO 44507 or St. Vincent De Paul, 308 W. Front St, YO 44503. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home.
