Mary Lou Douglass DiMarco died peacefully on the evening of November 28, 2025, surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 29 in Youngstown, Ohio to Stephen Andrew Douglass and Louise Gillespie Douglass
She had a full life and spent many winters with her late husband, Sam, in Florida. She had a long and successful career at Youngstown State University as the Director of Central Services. She enjoyed decorating her house for the holidays. She was an avid walker and spent time walking and talking with many friends at the mall.
Her parents, Andrew and Louise Douglass, and her husband, Salvatore DiMarco, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew and Cornelius Douglass, her sister Amy Holland, sister in-laws Madge and Rose Douglass and brother-in-law John Holland.
Cherishing her memory are her nieces: Patricia (John) Yozwiak, Barbara (Robert) Ferranti, Marilou (Ronald) Detwiler, Terri (Michael) Calautti, Jeanne (Robin) Vincer, and Collette (Karen Brooker) Johns, two nephews: John Douglass (Lynnette) Holland and John Edward (Renee) Holland and two stepsons: Sal DiMarco and Marino (Kim) DiMarco. She has two step-grandchildren: Ashley and Dominic DiMarco, many grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews She is also survived by a dear personal -friend, Raymond Tarnaski. She will be missed by many neighbors and walking friends.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, the staff at Caprice Senior Care Facility and the staff at Shepherd of the Valley.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Patrick Catholic Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507 on December 13, 2025, at 10:00.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Lou would wish for donations to be made to St. Patrick's Church, or Northeast Ohio Adoption Services (NOAS), 5000 E. Market St. Warren, OH 44484.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. Boardman.
