Mary C. Nard, 99 YOUNGSTOWN - There will be a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home for Mary C. Nard, 99, who passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning at Greenbriar Nursing Home. Mary was born on March 24, 1914, in Manchester, N.H., a daughter of Peter and Karolina Fuduala Bober and has been a resident of Youngstown for most of her life. She worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" and in a cigar factory during war time, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed walking and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a parishioner of both St. Dominic and St. Luke's Parishes. Her husband, Michael J. Nard, whom she married Dec. 22, 1942, died on Oct. 19, 1975. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Carla (Stewart) Jones of Youngstown; her son, Mr. and Mrs. Michael R. Nard of Austintown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her two brothers, Michael Bober and Frank Bober. The visitation will be held from noon to 1:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
