Mary Ann Smith, 88 YOUNGSTOWN- There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Fata at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 22nd at St. Luke Church for Mary Ann Smith, 88, who passed away Wednesday February 12th at Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was born January 18 , 1926 a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Tare Dobrescu and has been a lifetime resident of the Brownlee Woods , Youngstown, Ohio area. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School with the Class of 1944 and was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her ladies card club, was known to be a great cook and baker. Mostly she enjoyed visiting with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. She was dearly loved by her family.Her husband Russell Paul Smith whom she married on July 12, 1953 died on April, 9, 1990 after 36 years of marriage. She will be greatly missed by her three sons, Thomas Peter (Judy) Smith of Canfield, Robert Paul (Kathy) Smith of Petersburg, John Howard (Krista) Smith of North Lima; eight grandchildren, Brett Smith, Evan Smith, Michelle Smith, Jillian Smith, Robert Smith, Tristan Smith, Megan Smith, Brandon Smith; two close nieces, Mary Ann Zocolo and Carol Breeze. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her baby daughter Joann Smith; her sister Elaine Moore and her nephew Jack Breeze. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, February 21st at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman and on Saturday, February 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Church prior to the service.
