Mary Claire Miller Stepan, 82. There will be prayers at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Michael Marcelli at 9:30a.m. at St. Charles Church for Mary Claire Stepan who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon at her resident. Mary was the daughter of Tom A. Miller and Helen Yungbluth Miller. She attended Hibbing Jr. College and Marquette University. she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother- family matriarch that created a life of happiness for all of us. Her gregarious personality and ongoing concern for all her offspring made us realize how much we needed her calm and reasonable advise. She made the world bright, new and wonderful. She was the sun around which we all revolved. Born in Ishpeming, Michigan, she moved to Minnesota with her family where she met and married her husband, Charles, on September 20,1952. They were married for 62 years. Coming to Youngstown in 1958 she soon became an inspiration for her fast growing family. Seven children, Mark (Jody), Connie Carrier, Bruce (Debbie), Tom (Kathy), Laura (Guy) Wert, Alison (Josh) Hefner, Mike (Laurie); seventeen grandchildren, Andy (Sarah), Scott, Leigh Ann, Elizabeth, Paul, Bruce Jr., Becky, Ben (Lisa), Ryan (Claire), Craig (Jodie), Jenna, Cory, Casey, Madison, Bailey, Cameron, Chase, and seven great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Violet, Charlotte, Carter, Toby, Lily and Macy. Besides her parents Mary Claire was preceded in death by a son-in-law Don Carrier and a daughter -in-law Cheri Stepan. Mary, aka Bitsy and B-Z was a member of St. Charles Church. We will miss her.
