Maureen L. Casey, 78 CANFIELD - Maureen L. Casey, 78, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Charles Parish in Boardman. The Rev. Philip Rogers will preside. Maureen was born Aug. 9, 1937, in Youngstown, one of five daughters of John and Margaret (Ruane) Cooney. She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University. She retired from Youngstown State, where she was an assistant admissions director for many years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Boardman. Maureen is survived by her children, Kelly Casey and her husband, Stuart Novotny Jr. of Boardman, Sean Casey and his wife, Brenda, also of Boardman, Colleen McNally and her husband, Bill, of Finksburg, Md., and Shannon Iwaniuk and her husband, Nicholas, of Keller, Texas; and three grandchildren, Nicholas and Maximilian Iwaniuk and Grace McNally. She is also survived by her sisters, Normajeanne DelPapa of Santa Clarita, Calif., Jacci Oddino of West Hills, Calif. and Marjorie Marcott of Bedford, N.H. In addition, she leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. During her life, Maureen was blessed to have had many loving and dear friends, including Sister Nancy Dawson OSU, and Frank Saunders. She will be sorely missed by all. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carole Coffey, formerly of Miami; and her companion of many years, William Martin "Rip" Collins.
