NANCY ELIZABETH REID FINLEY - 83 BOARDMAN - Beloved mother Nancy Elizabeth Reid Finley, 83, passed away at home, surrounded by family on Aug. 14, 2015. She was born Aug. 24, 1931 in Cleveland, to Elizabeth Adele and Albert Joseph Reid. She attended, Shaker Heights High School, graduating as salutatorian and attended Case Western Reserve University with a double major in Chemistry and Elementary Education as well as a Master's Degree. She began her career as a teacher in Shaker Heights school system and taught with the U.S. Air Force in Okinawa. Subsequently, Nancy met her husband, John Russell Finley Jr., and they were married Nov. 21, 1958. Their 54th anniversary was celebrated prior to John's death in 2012. Nancy was active in the Society of Mayflower Descendants, as well as a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Dames of the Magnacarta. She was active volunteering through the years as a CASA, and Help Hotline volunteer, as well as a strong supporter of animal welfare. John & Nancy had three children, John Russell Finley III, Elizabeth Adele Finley-Belgrad (Robert Northcott) and Barbara Finley Schiavone (John); and seven Grandchildren, Benjamin Albert Belgrad, Joseph Philip Belgrad, Adele Elizabeth Belgrad, Jonathan Northcott, Miranda Northcott, Rebecca Marie Schiavone, and Gregory Peter Schiavone of which she was very proud. Private graveside services will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Cleveland for immediate family on Aug. 22, 2015. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Animal Charity Humane Society 4140 Market St., Boardman , OH 44512 in her memory.
