Austintown, Nancy Jean Jonas Hassay, 85. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Martin Celuch at 10 A.M. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows (St. Matthias) for Nancy Jean Jonas Hassay, who passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon. She was born December 24, 1930 in Youngstown, a daughter of Herbert and Rosella Dulovich Jonas. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Ursuline High School and on January 7, 1952 married Theodore R. Hassay. She was employed at various restaurants throughout the Youngstown area, including the Open Hearth, Ciceros and the Mansion. Together with her husband Theodore, they owned and operatyed Ted Hassay Tires for 44 years. Nancy was a lifetime member of the A.M.A. and Our Lady of Sorrows (Holy Name ). Her greatest joy was her family, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Many a Sunday and holiday where spent creating loving memories around the family dinner table. Nancy is survivied by her children Ted, Jr., Susan (Ambrose) Kalasky, Terry (Mel) and Charlotte Good., ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and her beloved cat, Fuzzy. Reuniting with her in heaven are her devoted husband Theodore, her loving daughter Jacqueline Rem and her sons Thomas R. Sr. and Michael. Friends may call from 9 to 10 Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows (St. Mattias). The Hassay family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of St. Elizabeth-Mercy Hospital Main campus for their excellent service and compassionate care during her stay.
