Orlando Ferrante, 89 NEW MIDDLETOWN - Orlando Ferrante, 89, passed away April 14. Orlando was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Akron, a son of Louis and Constance Sharpero Ferrante. He attended Kent State University. Orlando owned and operated the Expert Machine Shop in Brimfield and the Medina Airport, where he flew his Cesna and Beachcraft airplanes. Orlando had a love for horses, American Saddlebreds, which won five world championships throughout the country. Orlando and his wife owned the Red Coach Stables, where many world champion horses where born and raised. He also owed and raised race thoroughbred horses for many years and was the founder of the Ferrante Tail Crupper, which was used on the Saddlebred Fine Harness Horses. Orland enjoyed playing golf and won the Senior Championship at Fairlawn Country Club. He had a love for bowling and won numerous awards and trophies throughout the United States. He also enjoyed his classic cars, especially his Cadillac Alante. Orlando wore the classiest clothes and had a love for music, playing the tenor saxophone with his band the Ferrante Brothers. He will always be remembered for his love on earth for others, especially his wife, whom he adored through the loving care she had given him through his life and his final days. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former Sandy Brownlee, who he married July 5, 1966 in Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Sabastion Ferrante of Massillon; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He will be sadly missed by his dogs that he loved so much, Jake, Miss Aggie and Buddy Boy. Besides his parents, Orlando was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony Ferrante and Ronnie Carrante; a sister, Mary LaFonio; a daughter, Rita Bishop; and a grandson, Danny Lloyd. There will be a memorial service held at the Good Hope Church on Market Street in North Lima at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29. Those who knew Orlando over the years, family and friends, may join us in celebrating his life on earth.
