Obituary

Paul Cavalier, 93 BOARDMAN - There will be a Resurrection Mass at St. Charles Church at 12 noon Wednesday celebrated by Fr. Philip Rogers for Paul Cavalier, 93, who passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, November 30, 2014, at his home. Paul was born August 22, 1921 in Youngstown, son of the late Anthony and Frances Cavalier and has been a lifelong area resident. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II, receiving various medals for his distinguished service. Paul worked at Cold Metal Products for 38 years retiring in 1983. He was a long time member and usher at St. Charles Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed going to games with his friend Mike Heher. He enjoyed going to the casino, gardening, cooking, and making sausage. But most of all he loved being with his family, his Sunday morning St. Charles family, his Friday night dinner group, and his numerous friends, especially Sam Morrocco, who was with him throughout his illness. Paul leaves his devoted wife of 68 years, Gloria Bartlo Cavalier, whom he married on June 15, 1946; his son Rick Cavalier and Pam of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his grandson, Jeff Cavalier and his wife Kristie of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his granddaughter, Katie Greenwell and her husband Jeff of Chicago; and his pride and joy, great grandchildren, Lauren, Ellie, Nicholas Cavalier and Sierra, Brody and Trevor Greenwell. He also leaves a sister Rose Picciocchi of Boston. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul "Skip" Cavalier. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at St. Charles Church, prior to the Mass.
