Paul Francis Gambrel - 68 POLAND - Prayers will be at 9:15 a.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Edward Noga at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, Youngstown, for Paul F. Gambrel, 68, who passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness. Paul was born May 29, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of Dr. Francis & Josephine (Fusco) Gambrel and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Ursuline High School with the class of 1965, the University of Notre Dame, and the Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He worked in the Youngstown City Prosecutor's office, served as Law Director for the City of Campbell, and had his own private practice. He most recently worked for Panera Bread/Covelli Enterprises. Paul was known for his intellect and enjoyed fishing and fine cigars. He was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams and his beloved Notre Dame. When Paul's children were young, he was active with the Poland Community Baseball Association. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Diana Gambrel of Arlington, VA; a son John F. Gambrel (Felicia Allman) of Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, William (Amy) Gambrel of Boardman; a sister, Mary Ann (James) Simone of Poland; two granddaughters, Olivia and Harper; and a large extended family. Paul was preceded in death by his parents. The Gambrel family requests any monetary donations be made in Paul's name to St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St, Boardman, OH 44512.
