Phyllis Marie DeStefano Elmo, 80 Phyllis Marie (DeStefano) Elmo, a resident of The Assumption Village, joined her Lord Saturday, October 14, 2006. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Theresa (DeGenaro) DeStefano, infant brother Anthony DeStefano, and by her loving husband of 53 years, Orlando F. (Frank) Elmo and by their much loved poodles, Ginger and Amber. A native of Youngstown, Phyllis resided with her husband in Sarasota, Florida for nearly 30 years prior to her returning to Boardman and her Ohio family after Mr. Elmo's death. Phyllis leaves four daughters, Phyllis Maureen Elmo of Columbus, OH, Christine Engel of Santa Rosa, CA, Roberta M. Elmo of Boardman, OH and Stephanie (Charles) Navigante of Campbell, CA. Phyllis also is survived by three sisters, Catherine (Benjamin) Suffoletto of Rhode Island, Irma (Salvatore) Zucco of Anaheim, CA, and Theresa Marie (Richard) Henry of Youngstown, OH. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends in both Ohio and Florida. Phyllis relished her role as wife, mother and homemaker. She took great pride in her home enhancing its warmth with her sewing and craft projects and its exterior with her gardening skills. Phyllis and her husband enjoyed ballroom dancing and were often seen on the dance floor at Fonderlac Country Club where they were founding members. She also enjoyed fishing and horseback riding, card games and bingo, and became an avid walker in her later life. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, at the Edward J. Fox and Sons Funeral Home on Market Street in Boardman. Services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home to be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:30 a.m., the Reverend Monsignior Michael J. Cariglio, J.C.L. presiding. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3695 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite 310 B, Canfield, OH 44406 or the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W.
