Raymond J. Dunn, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning August 6, 2026, with his daughter at his side at Christian House Assisted Living & Health Care.

He was born on January 3, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Scanlon Dunn and was a lifelong area resident.

Raymond graduated from South High School in 1958. He served as a mechanic in the Army Reserves for six years. He later attended Youngstown State University.

He married the love of his life Nancy Grim on July 1, 1961, at St. Patrick Church, sadly she passed away July 5, 2019.

He began at Youngstown Sheet & Tube in Struthers, then worked for Wean United Engineering as a pipe fitter and machine builder until 1984.

Raymond and his brother William Dunn were co-owners of Custom Painting until retirement.

Ray and his family have been lifelong parishioners at Saint Patrick Church in Youngstown.

He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and visiting National Parks.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved daughter Susan Dunn and son-in-law Thomas Slaven of New Middletown, with whom Raymond made his home.

He also leaves his sister-in-law Elizabeth Jane Walker of Phoenix AZ. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and his wife, Raymond was preceded in death by his brother William Dunn, his sister Peggy Morgan, his sisters-in-law Delores Gallace, Lois Carpenter and his brothers-in-law Robert Grim and Richard Grim.

Friends and family may call on Monday August 10, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman.

Calling hours will also be available on Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church 1420 Oak Hill Ave. Youngstown, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery; Raymond will be laid to rest next to his wife.
