Raymond T. Edwards, 87 NEW MIDDLETOWN - Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman, officiated by the Rev. Kathy Adams, for Raymond T. Edwards, 87, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully Thursday morning. Raymond was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Youngstown, a son of Albert N. and Hazel Thullen Edwards. Ray was heavily involved in Automobile racing both as a hobby and entrepreneur. He was a accomplished low budget racer in Ohio and western Pennsylvania and was successful with several performance-oriented businesses throughout his career. Ray served his country, enlisting in the U.S. Army. His wife, the former Genevieve W. Campman, whom he married May 21, 1949, passed away in 2004. Ray leaves to cherish his memory a son, Gary L. Edwards of Columbiana; a daughter, Diane L. (Frank) Moss of Austintown; grandchildren Michael R. (Jennifer) Moss, Adrienne L. Battaglia and Ally L. Edwards (fiance' Jon Husted); and great-grandchildren Kylee G. Moss, Alex Battaglia, Anthony Battaglia and Ethan Husted. Besides his wife and parents, Ray was preceded in death by two brothers, Erle A. Edwards and Jack D. Edwards. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
