Oct 6, 1924 — Oct 24, 2016
Rebecca V. Wilson beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2016, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown. Becky was born on October 6, 1924 in Youngstown to James J. and Rebecca Bees McHugh. She was a 1942 graduate of Ursuline High School. After graduating, she was hired by the Ohio Bell Telephone Company, where she began her career as a telephone operator, and retired as a training supervisor for Bell System business accounts. It was at Ohio Bell that she met her husband of 57 years, Richard E. Wilson. The couple were married on August 30, 1952, and made their home in Poland since 1957. Dick passed away on June 27, 2010. Becky was a founding member of Holy Family Parish in Poland, and of the Holy Family Altar Guild. In retirement, she and Dick were active members of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a social and philanthropic retirees' organization. Becky is survived by their son, Richard (Jacqueline) of Shaker Heights, sister Catherine Rousseau of Kent, brother Thomas (Jane) McHugh of Largo, FL, sister-in-law Sandra (Jerry Sutton) McHugh of Yellow Springs, brother-in-law Raymond (Teresa) Wilson of North Jackson, and sisters-in-law Bonnie Wilson of Hermitage, PA, Betty Lou (William) Bradley of Round Rock, TX, and many, many nieces and nephews. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick, brothers James (Katherine) McHugh, Alfred (Margaret) McHugh, Francis (Ruth) McHugh, and Michael McHugh, sisters Mary (Robert) Anderson and Joan McHugh, brothers-in-law Arsene Rousseau, Walter (Claire) Wilson, and Charles Boyer. Becky loved a good story, and in true Irish fashion, could bend any ear at any time. The story of her life was a long and good one, filled with love, family, friends, hard work, good times, some trying times, and deep faith. She loved people, and touched all whom she met with her kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call on Friday October 28th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Youngstown. Services begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday October 29th at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland. Burial will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Rebecca's family ask any memorial tributes be given to The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, 962 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Youngstown, Oh. 44501.
