Obituary

Revekka K. Theophanous, 92 BOARDMAN – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman for Revekka K. Theophanous, 92, who passed away on Friday night, April 4, 2014. Revekka was born on Dec. 6, 1921, in Sychari, Cyprus. She married her husband, Kyriakos Theophanous in 1942 and moved to Koutsoventi. During the Turkish Invasion of 1974, she and her family moved to the southern part of the island as refugees. Eventually she and some of her children made their way to the USA. She was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved the church and enjoyed reading religious books. She is survived by her sister, Magdalene (John) of Boardman; brother Modestos of Cyprus; children Androulla (Stylianos), Konstantinos (Andritsa), Eleni (Antonios), Maria, Magdalene, Rev. Theofanis (Presvytera Eleni), George (Ourania), and Petros; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Petros Nocola and Presvytera Sotira; husband Kyriakos; son Sotiris; siblings Andriani, Maria, Yiannis, Kyriaki, Xristallou, and Panayiotis; and nephew Petros, Patriarch of Alexandria. Calling hours are at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the church. Funeral services will follow.
