Rickey Lee Winkler, 66 PETERSBURG, FLA. - Memorial services will be at a later date for Rickey Lee Winkler, 66, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away March 2. Rickey was born Feb. 14, 1949, in Detroit, a son of William Lee and Hazel Peterson Winkler. He was a 1968 graduate of South High School and had his own commercial painting company. Rickey loved to box and was in the Golden Gloves in Youngstown. He was a army veteran, serving in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts. Rickey leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Julie Winkler Hubbard of Houston; a stepson Bobby Whitman of California; a stepdaughter, Meghan Whitman of California; two sisters, Sherry (Robert) Veauthier of Boardman and Lois Arreola of California; a brother, Michael (Kathy) Melia of Boardman; a granddaughter, Paige Hubbard; a stepfather, Joseph Melia; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Cocco. Rickey's family wishes to thank Paul and Kathy Melia for their loving care and compassion given to him.
