Robert J. Femback, 79 BOARDMAN - Robert J. Fernback passed away August 26, 2006 after a brief illness. Born January 6, 1927 in Buffalo, NY and he grew up and lived all of his life in Youngstown, OH. The son of the late Frank and Gertrude Femback, he graduated from South High School in 1944 and joined the US Navy where he served in China. He was a Journeyman Carpenter, and then learned to estimate construction work with the Willard Kier Company. He worked for several general contractors, was the Director of Construction for Red Barn Systems, and retired from the Mike Coates Construction Company. He was a sports fan, an avid reader and a skilled woodworker. He was the family "go-to guy" for guidance in all matters of building. He lived in quiet dignity and left his family with a legacy of integrity and support. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine, three sons, Martin and wife Cindy of Boardman; Daniel and wife Gina of Boardman; and Timothy and wife Leslie of Mechanicsburg, PA; a daughter Sandra Platton and husband Glen of Austintown; a sister, Nancy Sargent and husband Jim of Boardman; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 25, at The Fox Funeral Home and friends may call from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. before the services. Memorial Donations may be made to the Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation.
