Obituary

Robert J. Vitullo Sr., 84 AUSTINTOWN - There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Rd. Austintown officiated by Very Rev. Gregory Fedor for Robert James Vitullo Sr., 84 who passed away Thursday afternoon at Hospice House surrounded by his family. Bob was born November 4, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Mary Ann Passella Vitullo and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Austintown, Fitch High School with the Class of 1950. He served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob worked many years as a Real Estate Agent throughout our community listing his last home with Northwood's Real Estate Company earlier this year. He was a long time parishioner of St. Joseph's parish, a member of Board Sixty Men's Organization and a member of the Youngstown Board of Realtors. He was past officer and standing member of the KWVA (Korean War Veteran's Association) and was very instrumental on getting the Korean War Memorial built in Austintown. Bob enjoyed golf, gardening, the stock market, cooking for family gatherings but Bob's favorite things were spending time with his family. His wife Alice J. Cookson whom he married February 11, 1956, died very young on September 29, 1972. He will be greatly missed by his son Robert J. (Tammy) Vitullo Jr. of Youngstown; his three daughters Mary Elizabeth (Michael) Levine of Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Thomas) Martinelli of North Jackson, Carolyn (Tom) Cahill of Columbus; a son-in-law Tony Colello of Brecksville; a sister Loretta Cichon of Poland; 14 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by a daughter Kris Colello; a sister Genevieve Hanko and three brothers, Angelo, Arthur and Joseph Vitullo. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. In lieu of flowers his family requests any Material tributes can be made in Bob's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512 or KWVA, Treasurer Beverly Pariza,4026 Stratford dr.
