Robert Louis Walsh, 85 YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. William Loveless at noon at St. Brendan Church, for Robert Louis Walsh, 85, who passed away peacefully Tuesday morning. Robert was born July 4, 1929, in Youngstown, a son of Rodger J. and Bertha A. Price Walsh. A Rayen School graduate, Robert worked in the metallurgy department of U.S. Steel, retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed coin collecting. An avid golfer, he played in many tournaments. Robert served his country in the Army, stationed in Japan until 1947. His wife, the former Mary Ann Fayta, whom he married June 6, 1953, passed away Sept. 10, 2011. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Robert A. Walsh of Youngstown and Jeffrey R. (Nancy) Walsh of Youngstown; a daughter, Nancy (Joseph) Mosca of Canfield; a brother, Jack Walsh of Youngstown; three sisters Joann Haaheim of Austintown, Shirley Schindler of Austintown and Noreen Mazon of Boardman; six grandchildren, Kate (Jack Gravelle) Mosca, Joseph Mosca, Robert Anthony Walsh, Christopher Walsh, Caroline Walsh and Abigail Walsh; and two great-grandchildren, Ruth and Sam Gravelle. Besides his wife, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, James Walsh and a sister, Carol Treese. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.
