YOUNGSTOWN - Private services were held for Robert D. "Youngstown Bob " Yarnell, 90, who passed away peacefully late Monday evening at Oasis Nursing Home in Youngstown.

Bob was born October 29, 1926 in Sewickley, PA, a son of Michael and Edna Stevenson Yarnell.

He was a graduate of Ambridge (PA) High School. After graduation, he proudly served his country by joining the Air Force. Bob worked for the Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg for thirty years. He enjoyed going to the racetrack and calling in to various radio stations with his handle "Youngstown Bob." He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his daughter Linda, who considered him her best friend.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Joan Gordon, whom he married on May 14, 1952; his daughter Linda (David) Lesko of Youngstown; her grandchildren Shelia J. (Michael) Goskie, Scott A. (Christina Vaught) Burkart, Jeff S. (Kim) Burkhart, and her great grandchildren Brittany, Jessyka, and Jenna Burkhart and Alexandra and Hunter Hornyak, and step great grandchildren Michael, Joey, Jimmy and Kaitlyn Vaught, and his dog Rascal.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Oasis Nursing Home and Crossroads, both of whom helped Bob and his family through this difficult time. They would also like to acknowledge Dr. Richard Memo for his wonderful care of Bob, especially the last 20 years.
