Obituary

Ronald J. Sattler, 78. Prayers will be 9:45 A.M. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Bernard R. Bonnot at 10:30a.m. at Christ our Savior Church, Struthers for Ronald J. Sattler, 78 who passed away peacefully Monday morning at Shepherd of the Valley, Boardman with his loving family by his side. Ronald was born February 6, 1935 in Youngstown, a son of Fred and Lenore Shannon Sattler. Ronald graduated from Ursuline High School with the Class of 1953 and attended the University of Cincinnati. Ronald was a veteran serving his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956 known as the "Buckeye Buddies Platoon". He worked diligently and retired in November 1996 from Commercial Intertech as an assembler. Ronald was a member of St. Nicholas Parish, Ursuline Reunion Committee and became a part of Ursuline Hall of Fame in 2000 for his outstanding football ability. Ron was a part of Ursuline 1952 football team helping to win coach Tom Carey his first championship. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life Nedra L (Vimmerstedt) who he married on May 21, 1955; and his children, Vivienne (Steve) Kurdziel of Struthers , Jeff (Rhonda) Sattler of Beecher, IL, Sharon Conti of Struthers, Ronald "Barney" (Mandy) Sattler of Suwannee GA., He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Colleen Hlywa, Brian(Crystal) Hlywa, Mallory and Adam Sattler, Anthony and Victoria Messuri, Kaitlynn Kurdziel, Nicholas Conti and Erin Sattler; and a brother Lee ( Ellie) Sattler of Canfield. Ronald was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Lee Sattler Messuri and a sister Sally Hudak. . Friends may call from 4 to7 p.m. Friday and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. The Sattler Family would like to thank the staff at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman for their special care. A special thanks to Chow, Irma, Jackie, Michelle and Doug for the loving care they showed Ronald and his family. Also sending thanks to Southern Hospice Care and Dr. Robert Spratt and his staff.
