Obituary

Rosalyn J. Powell,74 Rosalyn J. Powell, formerly of Poland, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek at the age of 74. Rosalyn was born July 17, 1942, in Berwyn, Illinois, a daughter of Charles and Jennie Lubic Zahrobsky. She was a graduate of Kiel High School with the Class of 1959. She worked as a receiver for Handleman Company until her retirement. Rosalyn was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church and the VFW Post 8312 Ladies Auxiliary in Beavercreek. She rarely missed an opportunity to help serve others through her volunteer work. Rosalyn loved playing cards, word games, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her beloved pet, Isabella. Her greatest pleasure in life was watching her grandchildren grow. She will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, warm smile, and caring heart. Rosalyn leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Sandra J. (Michael Jr.) Albrecht of Lowellville and Diane L. (Michael) Bowers of Beavercreek; a brother, Richard (Charlotte) Zahrobsky of Keil, Wisconsin; two sisters, Jean Thomas of Atwater and Charleen (Chuck) Teege of Denmark, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law Bill (Marjie)Powell of Ocala FL.; four grandchildren, Lauren Albrecht, Michael Albrecht III, Justin Bowers, and Brandon Bowers; and three great grandchildren, Anya Bowers, Callie Bowers, and Rylan Culbreth. Besides her parents, Rosalyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur L. Powell, whom she married June 10, 1961, and granddaughter, Crystal M. Culbreth. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home in Boardman. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Brent Eelman at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Poland Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
