Avon Lake, formerly of Boardman -Rose Marie Minarovich Puhalla, 87 There will be prayers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Philip Rogers at 10 a.m. at St.Charles Church for Rose Marie Puhalla, 87 who died peacefully surrounded by her children the morning of Wednesday, May 23rd at St. John Medical Center in Westlake. Rose was born in Greenville, PA on August 28, 1924, a daughter of Emil and Veronika Brestovanski Minarovich and moved to the Youngstown area as a child. She worked at the Warner Theater, Carnegie Steel and Packard Electric. She was a long time parishioner at St. Charles Church in Boardman. Rose loved camping, boating, doing puzzles but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rose was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, Edward Joseph Puhalla whom she married on May 28, 1949, passed away on September 11, 2008. She leaves to treasure her memory her children, Marleen M. (Domenic) Belfiore of Canfield, Karen J. Dropco and Denise A. Murdy both of Amherst , Diane T. (John) Stearns of Avon Lake and Edward M. Puhalla of Avon. Four grandchildren, Joshua, Brandon and Brianna Murdy, and Kaylee Stearns, A sister Betty Kotel of Youngstown and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gabriel Minarovich and Vincent Minor ; her four sisters, Mary Magalene, Theresa Minarovich, Sarah Berdis and Marie Simon and daughter-in-law Ellen Puhalla and son-in-law Paul Dropco. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
