Shawna Carney, 45 BOARDMAN - A funeral service to celebrate the life of Shawna Carney, 45, will be celebrated by the Rev. Terrence Hazel at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home in Boardman. Shawna was born on June 5, 1967, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Donald and Donna Stephenson and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Girard High School and worked many years as a nurses aid at Bighley Oaks Nursing Home. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Michael Carney, whom she married on Nov. 21, 2010. She is also survived by her sister, Roselyn Kelly of Liberty; a brother, Anthony Gelsomino of Girard; a stepfather, Rocco Gelsomino of Girard; a nephew, Lawrence Goist; and a niece, Tabatha Goist. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home, prior to her service.
